Looks Like I Have My Work Cut Out For Me!

I cut out the next seven projects that I have planned. This should take me awhile. I'll keep you posted on the progress. I have also started smocking an insert (if I get very far I'll post pictures tomorrow). It is Ellen McCarn's Candy Cane Letters. This is for a stocking that was suppose to be finished by last Christmas. As you can tell I missed my deadline, but it will be finished by this Christmas.

Cutting Out Saturday

I have big plans today. Some may say a little over ambitious.
I plan to cut out ...

1-half apron
1- child's apron
1-bishop dress
2-sets of PJs
1-chef apron
1-gardening apron

I think that is all for right now. I will finish what I don't get done tomorrow and then I want to smock an insert. Man, I thought weekends were for relaxing.

Wow! That is some jacket!

I was having a hard time coming up with something to post. I just haven't felt like sewing at night. But today at work this jacket showed up. My friend Kay was nice enough to model it for me. (She is Lizzie and Katie's mother.) I love this jacket, and the colors are wonderful and bright. Can't you just see it on the ski slopes.

Little Lizzie and Big Sister, Katie

This is Lizzie and Katie before they went to church on Sunday. Apparently, I didn't do such a good job sewing the hem of Lizzie's Easter dress because she had it out before the end of the service.

More Easter Fun

We went with Bo's family to church. I love the flowered crosses at Easter. The church that I went to when I was a child was decorated by the children of the church and wasn't really done. It looked like kids did it. I talked to a couple of ladies at church and they said that they had tried that, but couldn't get it right so now they have the pre-decorated cross and have the children lay flowers at the foot of it. I'm all about doing what ever way works.

After church we went to the Farm. We eat lunch and rode 4 wheelers. Well, I didn't. I don't really like them so my sweet father-in-law rented a golf cart for me. I would ride the golf cart all day long. But the rental went so slow. I hope if we get one it will go faster. I'm making my wish list of what I would like on it.

After we rode a while went fishing. This is something Bo's family just loves. In the picture below it is him and his grandmother. He has fished with her on Sunday afternoon since he was a little boy before his great grandmother died she would go with him. I not really a fisherman, but I do sit by the pond and read while they fish. I have tried handsewing, but it is just to dirty.

They finally got one. His grandmother caught the most yesterday.

After dinner we went home. We were covered in pollen and couldn't wait to change our clothes and today my sinuses are paying for my two days of fun outside. I hope that you all had a nice Easter.

Easter With My Family

Bo and I spent a good part of our weekend in a car traveling to see both sets of parents. We are lucky that our parents are willing to work it out so that we can spend to time with everyone. At my parents house we watched a little basketball.

We took long naps or at least tried to.

We eat. I love our traditional meal my mom makes. It is the same every holiday, but I never get tired of it. This rabbit cake was baked by my parents church choir. They sell them for $10.00.

We played. Bo's glasses are always a hit. Nephew thinks they are the best toy ever. (I would show you a picture of how adorable he is, but my brother asked me not to and I'll respect that wish)

After all of this fun we headed of to Bo's family for more Easter fun.

Little Lizzie's Easter Dress

The Dress is finished. Except for button holes and buttons. I constructed the dress and Kay, Lizzie's mom smocked it. It was a team effort.

A picture of the dress. I did the construction

Kay's smocking. It is the Ellen McCarn plate Baby Bunnies.
I appologize for the pictures not being better. I plan to work on that.

Easter Is When?

I'm suppose to be working on my friends daughter's Easter dress, but what am I doing... I'm watching Dancing With The Stars. I love this show! I have until Friday to finish this dress, and I'm almost there. I'll post pictures when I finish. Hopefully, tomorrow.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

I wish I could find a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

I love this day, and all the green. Green is not one of my favorite colors, but I definately wear it today.

Are you lost?

No, I'm not lost. I have just been sewing the most horrible pattern in the world. The pattern is Simplicity 3802. It is now finished, and I will add pictures of it tomorrow, I promise.
If that didn't interest you much I also fixed the hem on Bo's pants. I don't know how excited you are about that, but Bo was extremely excited. You would think that he had never seen anything that I have sewn. Oh well!
I'm so tired from the time change. Actually, any change makes me tired. I want to take a nap, but I can't until everything is done for the day.
Until tomorrow.

We're Going to Disney World!!!

Well, we aren't going until December - so I have a long time to plan. So if you have any helpful hints let me know!! I can't wait to see the Magic Kingdom at Christmas. As you can see by the date on this picture we went last year as well. It was my 30th birthday trip, and my first trip to Disney in 5 years and Bo's first trip in 20 years. We had so much fun we want to go back. We both love to travel and this the only time that we have planned to repeat a location. The shirt I have on I made. It is Simplicity 4589 http://www.simplicity.com/dv1_v4.cfm?design=4589 It is made from a bright green Nemo fabric. We went to the costume party, and didn't want to wear real costumes so I made us coordinating Nemo shirts with a tropical feel.

Apron Strings!

This one is a Keeper. I'll be wearing it tonight when I make dinner.

Please ignor the junk in the backround - my husband did not want to take the picture. So these are pictures that he took from the couch during a commercial. Maybe next time he will be the model, and I'll take the picture.

I have fallen in love with this pattern. It is Simplicity 3752. I plan to make one more apron from this pattern and then move on to other items. It's just that this is so fast, and who doesn't like a fast pattern. I also have learned that the top half should have the directional material so that Elvis and the little cooking girls aren't laying on their side. Oh Well, you live and learn.
