Cut Out Quilts

This past weekend I cut out 2 small quilts. They are super easy and they come in a prepackaged deal so there isn't really much thinking on my end. One is for my niece and the other is to be saved for the next baby gift I need.
I have one more to cut out. This one is for my nephew. He loves his dog so I'm sure he will love this quilt. Actually he amazes me by how much he likes the stuff I make him.

I hope to have these done this weekend.

Duck Blanket

It was late when I finished this so the lighting was bad for the picture. I still have to sew up the bottom of the quilt. I would have finished it tonight, but I laughed at the directions when it said to have a seem ripper. Needless to say I needed a seem ripper, and that yellow fluffy fleece was hard to rip out. This was an easy project and I hope to make another one soon.

Bronchitis

I was sicker than sick on Friday night. I had a 103 temp. Bo was actually away hunting and I called him around 10:30p.m. and he drove an hour home to take care of me. My mom drove two hours the next day to take care of me so Bo could go back to hunting trip. I never really go better and my cold turned into Bronchitis. I have had a breathing treatment at the Dr.'s office. Then I went home with a inhaler, antibiotic, steroid, and cough medicine. Needless to say I haven't been sewing. I haven't really left the couch. Bo has been great to me. He actually sleep on the recliner beside me. Bo was covered with the quilt pictured below. This quilt was made by Bo's grandmother. She actually made him three quilts: a baby quilt, a quilt for his 18th birthday (he won't use this one at all), and the one pictured below. I hope to get back into the swing of things soon starting with going to work tomorrow.

UFO, Pin Cushion, and Pumpkins

I have been inspired by several blogs lately that have been working on UFOs. This UFO has been partial finished for at least 4 years now. It is a broken dish pattern out of a Fons and Porter magazine. Of course I can't find the magazine any more. I know that the pattern calls for a border, but I'm not sure what size so I guess I will wing it. I am also open to ideas. I hope to have this finished for my December for my mother's b-day. She hardly ever reads my blog, but my dad does. (So please don't tell her.)

I know what your thinking, "What is Bo doing with a pumpkin in August?" My Father-in-law was kind enough to grow some pumpkins for me this year. He had never planted any before and he planted them early. The pumpkins will never last until Halloween. So Bo and I are baking them. Luck for me I love anything with pumpkin.

I wanted to make something tonight, but I couldn't decide what to make. I ended up making the Heather Bailey Square Deal Pin Cushion. It went together fairly easy. I plan to give this one to a sewing friend, and may end up making more.
