Happy Belated Halloween

Over the last week my child has been sick 5 of the last seven days. Not much has gotten done, but taking care of him.

We did squeeze in a little trunk or treating at church. We had us one of the cutest puppy dogs I have ever seen.

Our family with our car. Next year I hope to have a better theme.

Pine Cone Pattern

I don't think Simplicity 3078 is seen the same way in every ones eyes.

Me : Bo what do you think of this Halloween Costume.
Bo: If I dress up I don't want to be a pine cone.
Me: It's an owl not a pine cone.
Bo: Looks like a pine cone to me.
I had to just laugh at that because now I will never be able to look at this pattern the same. I guess if you want a nature inspired Halloween you can go as a pine cone.

Weekend Update

These pictures are not exactly in the order I wanted them, but I'll share them anyway.

This weekend we went home and visited my family and finished the weekend by eating a Sunday night steak dinner with Bo's family.

We had such a great weekend! We at Sunday Lunch at Red Lobster, and they have to have the best cheese biscuit. Nephew agrees. He liked them so much that he licked his plate when he was finished. I snapped this picture before his dad could tell him no.
My brother was willing to try on the golfing pants I made. Apparently I sewed the fly in wrong because Brother said that I sewed it on the woman's side. But he says that he may wear them next year for Halloween.
I wanted to show you a picture of Nephew's costume. I couldn't get any really good pictures of him because he was nothing, but content motion Friday night. He even invited all of of his new little friends into the house to Tricker Treat. Boy, did he look cute.

Saturday night we went to the National Peanut Festival. I enjoy all of the wonderful fair food - a corndog from The Corndog man, a funnel cake, cotton candy, and of course boiled peanuts.

The Great Pumkin - Charlie Brown

Tonight was Trunk or Treat at our church. As you can tell by this picture I didn't do much to our truck, but I did wear my tried and true costume- the great pumpkin. My mother made me this costume in either 2000/2001 and every time that I wear it everyone loves it! The most unusual place I have worn it was to hospital to visit a friend who had her baby on Halloween. There have been years when I wanted to be something new, but I love being a pumpkin. Thanks Mom for making me such a great costume!

Almost Finished Pirate Costume

I know that this isn't a really good picture and this isn't completely finished costume, but this is what I have so far.

Part of a Pirate

Halloween is coming quicker than I would like. Last night I finished Nephew's head scarf and pants. Well, the pants are sort of finished - I think the elastic in the waist will be to big for Nephew - so my mother has agreed to try them on him for a fitting and then she will finish the elastic and the waistband. Tonight, I must finish the shirt and the belt. I think Nephew will be an adorable Pirate.

Golfing Knickers

Bo has decided that he wanted be this for Halloween.
I could buy these pants from http://www.golfknickers.com/index.html, but what fun would that be when I can sew.

I have two options:
First option Simplicity 4059. I like it a lot especially the way the legs puff out, but the wasteband has some issues. Second option is Vogue 1753. This pattern would require me to cut off the legs an add elastic to make it puff out. I'm leaning that way.
If you have any advice I would appreciate it.
