We've been Away

Yes, we went on another trip. This time we went to Pennsylvania to see the Alabama vs. Penn State game. We had loads of fun. We visited family and watched the ball game. I hope to start sewing again soon.

Baby Moon

I think Baby Moon is a funny name for a vacation a couple goes on before there baby is born. So this past weekend Bo and I went on our Baby Moon. We went to Atlanta for the weekend. Friday we took off work and went and heard Dave Ramsey, EntreLeadership. This was interesting and we both learned a lot.

Saturday - We went and watched the Braves v. the Phillies. The Braves Lost! We were there the day they honored Bobby Cox before he retires at the end of the season.

Bo and I at the game. The couple in front of us got on the big screen.

Disney Hollywood Studios

Okay my parents surprised me by how much they really like Disney Hollywood Studios. I never would have guessed it.

Here are my parents waiting for the Fantasmic.

It rained most of the afternoon, but that didn't stop us from having fun. This is my mom in front of the muppet fountain.
During the rain storm we found a seat under an umbrella and took a nap. Bo sleeping.
My dad and I also took a nap as we waited for the rain to pass.

My mom got to meet Lightning McQueen. He is one of my nephews favorite charaters.

blizzard beach

Bo and I really wanted to go to the water parks this year as part of our Disney Trip. Lets just say this was a bust.
Bo after we waited an hour for the rain to stop. We finally left because there was thunder and lightning all around us.

We did get to send about 30 min in the lazy river which wasn't at all relaxing. There were way to many people in it to be enjoyable.

Bo wasn't happy here because some one pored a cold drink on him from one of the bridges. We were already wet so I didn't understand the big deal. I think it mostly shocked him. I don't know if we will pay to go to the water parks again.

Magic Kingdom

Okay let me start off by saying I have gone to Disney for a long time. So sometimes I don't call it Magic Kingdom I refer to it as Disney World this really gets some people confused. Luckly, not my parents and Bo has just gotten used to it.

So while we were at the Magic Kingdom my mom made a statement, "that it doesn't matter how many parks Disney adds the Magic Kingdom is Disney World." This is so how I feel too.
My mom and I rode It's a Small World Together. I just love the colors that are inside this building. They are so inspiring.

My dad waiting for the Monster's Inc. show. He just had to catch a little cat nap. I think the trip tired him out, but we all had a good time.

We always have to have our picture taken in front of Cinderella's Castle.

Epcot

Epcot has to be one of my favorite parks. I love the side that lends itself to learning, and I really enjoy visiting all of the countries in the World Showcase. I still don't think I have seen all of the countries yet.
One of my favorite items is the jumping water fountains. They have been there since the park was built, but they are still fun to play with. Just see if you can catch one of them.

My parents and Bo enjoying the Mexican boat ride. This had to be the worse ride for a person in a wheelchair. They were not at all prepared for a wheelchair. It was really disappointing not to experience Disney service.
One of all of our favorite rides, Living with the Land. This ride was much more prepared for a wheelchair.

Animal Kingdom

First off let me say that Bo and I go to Disney World pretty often, but that this trip was different in several ways:
1. Bo went for a conference
2. My parents went along
3. We have never been in June before
4. We went to a water park.
5. My parents have never been to Animal Kingdom or Disney Hollywood Studios
But a fun time was had by all

First Day: Animal Kingdom

If I had to give anyone any advise about Animal Kingdom it would be to go see the Birds of Prey show and the Lion King Show. My two favorites in this park.
This is a picture from the Bird Show.

My dad ridding his scooter. He couldn't have made it around the parks without it. I called him zippy because he would zip ahead of us and wait under a tree until the rest of us caught up with him.

I never get tired of seeing this sign. I have to let you know that I had a grandmother who loved Disney World. The first time my mother visited with her family was in 1973, and they drove down to FLA from PA. So that just tells you how serious Gram took Disney World. So lets just say I get it honestly.

National Championship Game

I haven't been around for a while because we were off in Southern California. Let me just say the weather out there was so much nicer than what I came back to.

Bo had promised me that if Alabama made it to the National Championship Game that if we went I could go to Disney Land. Well Alabama made it...

And I got to go to Disney Land. Disney Land is different from Disney World, but I wasn't disappointed in the park as much as the service there. I had to keep on reminding myself that this is a different park and should be treated as such.

Sleeping Beauty's Castle is much smaller than Cinderella's Castle

I am really tired right now. So I don't know how much I will post this week. I must admit that we still have our Christmas tree up. It is undecorated and is just waiting to go in the box, but it still standing in the corner waiting to be taken down.

Road Trip

Bo and I feel like we are on the road all the time. This time we took Bo's cousins back to their house. We really enjoyed their visit, but we sadly had to take them home.

It was a pretty much uneventful trip. M listening to her music.
This is the only picture T would let me take of him.

We went way down into the state of Florida. I don't think I have ever seen this many orange trees in a while. Before this trip the furthest south I have been is Orlando and we development has pretty much taken down most of the orange groves.
On the way back I followed the GPS system and it pretty much told us the wrong way or should I say the back way down county roads. We actually had to stop to let a turkey cross the road. It was an interest road trip and I would do it again. Hopefully next time I will be bringing M and T to visit us.

New Years In New Orleans

Bo and I had a great time in New Orleans even if Bama didn't show up to play.

Bo and I along with his cousin and his wife enjoyed a nice dinner at Brennan's and then we watched the fireworks from Jackson Square.

While we walked around the French Quarter and I found a great store, The Quarter Stitch Needlepoint. I purchased a cute peppermint tape measure, hand made buttons, and a tin ornament.

Oh, I wanted to let you know that I haven't purchased any fabric in the new year, but I did stop by Joann Fabrics in Mobile on the 31st. I got the fabric pictured below.

Roll Tide!

Bo and I will be at the Sugar Bowl tonight. I hope that the outcome of the game is what we want. Roll Tide!

We're back, but not for long.

Bo and I had a great time at Disney World. It was unseasonably cold for Orlando like in the mid 30s one night. The day we left it was in the 80s. You got to love that kind of weather.
I still have two more gifts to make. I won't be able to post them because they are for family members who read my blog. Today, I am off to finish my Christmas shopping, then we are celebrating Bo's birthday with his family, and tomorrow we are celebrating my mom's birthday. December is a big birthday month for us.

Celebration!

Last night Bo and I went to Birmingham to see Reba McEntire and Kelly Clarkson. We don't really go to many concerts, but this was part of my birthday present from Bo. If you don't remember my birthday was back in September.
Here are some pictures from the concert. The three girls in front of us thought that they had to dance the entire time. I love to people watch and this was a great place.

Birmingham is an hour and 3o minutes away from home so we decided to stay at the Ross Bridge Resort and Spa. It is on the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail. It is a very nice hotel and we enjoyed our stay. Then today before we left we went shopping. It was a great weekend trip.

I'm Back

Bo and I enjoyed our days away, but I'm glad to be home. Here are some pictures from our trip to the Smokey Mountains.

We enjoyed breakfast at the Apple Barn, and then we went shopping at their store. I love their apple fritters there the best!

The next day we went to Dollywood. I love Dolly Parton, but her theme park has a lot to be desired. Maybe I went at the wrong time of year because there were a large number of water rides that I really didn't want to ride them this time of year. I'm glad that we went because now we don't have to wonder what it is like.
Later that night we visited The Incredible Christmas Place which is one our favorite places to go in Pigeon Forge. Bo and I could spend hours in there. Bo says that they are guaranteed to take some of our money. I wanted to show you this nativity set. Bo found it and told me he liked it. Then we looked at the price ... $25,000. Needless to say we didn't go home with it. Bo wanted to visit The Biltmore Estate which we both enjoyed so much that we would love to go back some day. We also visited the McDonald's across the street from the Biltmore Estate. This McDonald's is special because it appears on The Travel Channel's Worlds Best McDonald's show. It is also the third one I have visited on the list. Orlando and Rome are the others I have visited. I just wanted to let y'all know that I have the best husband in the world. He drove us an hour out of the way just so I could visit Jo-Ann fabrics. We got there 30 minutes before closing, but I had fun in my limited time there. So, that's our trip. Now that we are home it is time for laundry, putting away stuff, sewing of course, and the daily grind.

Leaves of Change

Today, we spent the day riding in the mountains. This is Bo posing for a picture. I hate to say it, but we didn't get any pictures together. Maybe tomorrow.

The leaves were beautiful, but some time during the ride I had to take a nap. Actually, I took two naps on the ride.
The Christmas ornaments that I made yesterday. They would look much better if they were hanging, but there isn't really anything for me to work with in the condo.
