We want a deal

Let me just start off by saying I'm horrible at asking for a deal. I pretty much just pay the sale price. Not Bo he looks for the manager to see if they can give him a deal. That is were this chair comes into the story.

You see I have loved these Adirondack chairs at Joann since they came in, but I wasn't going to pay $49.99 a piece for four of them. Well, I have watched the price drop on them until they were marked down to 70% off, but Bo still didn't like that price. And they had a ton left. So one night when we were in Joann we saw the manager. Bo of course went up to him and asked him if 70% was as low as the chairs could go. The manager thought about it said he couldn't do any better because he didn't have much room to mark down merchandice. Bo said we would just wait. Then the manager suddenly changes his mind and takes another 30% off the clearance price. Making our chairs $10.50 a piece. Bo was on top of the world since he got a great deal, and I was excited because I finally got the chairs I wanted.

This just proved to me again that it is good to wait and always ask for a deal.

Pillows

Today, I took advantage of my day off by making some pillows for my living room. They look much better than this picture. I have had these cut out and sitting around waiting on me to sew them. This fabric is usually much more than I would have paid for fabric, but we have a local designer fabric store and they have a bargain basement that has a bind of sample for a $1.00 a sample. So total I have $8.00 in the fabric of these pillows. The ladies always look at me funny when I leave with an armful of fabric. One asked me one day what I was going to do with it and I told her I was going to make pillows out of it. She said I guess that is a good idea. I guess I got high end fabric for very little it must be a great idea.

Garden Update

Bo is showing off our new hula beach umbrella that we got tonight at Rite Aid. We got the umbrella and a bottle of nail polish for $1.80 with tax. I love coupons.

All of this came out of our garden tonight and there is plenty more where they came from.

These elephant ears were planted just this year. I am amazed how much they have grown. Bo and I have been warned that they will take over your yard. We really want them to grow thick and tall in hope to keep our bricks cooler in the summer heat. We'll see how that works.
