Hosting a Baby Shower

Bo's cousin is going to have a baby in March. Bo's mom, sister-in-law, aunt, and I hosted a baby shower for his cousin. Here are a few pictures from the shower.

My sister-in-law and I worked on the greenery and flower petals. I don't do flowers so I thought sister-in-law and I did an okay job. The punch was so good that we had to make a second batch of it during the shower.
Petits Fours they were so good and so cute. We purchased these, but learning to decorate cakes is on my list of things to do one day.

Purchased these beautiful flowers from Fresh Market. They do such a great job and are very reasonable with flower arrangements. If there is one near you definately check it out.
Just a picture of our food table.

Hosting a shower can drain the energy out you. Today I took a two hour nap. I hope to start sewing tomorrow, and I got more pom poms to make another strand of garland.

Tired

If January is any indication on how the rest of my year is going to go.
I'm going to be so tired by the time 2011 rolls around.
But I'm looking forward to enjoying all the rest of the days of 2010.
No matter how tiring they are.

nephew's birthday

I can't believe that my nephew is three. It seems like the time has gone by so quickly. I love him so much! His birthday party had a train theme. The train came to the party.
Nephew and his Grandmother riding the train
I was the official photographer of the party and Bo was the official videographer. I'll let you know that I took way more pictures than Bo took video.

This is the train on the trailer.

This is a picture from inside the train. It was a little small for a large adult, but the kids loved it

Stocking?

Some of you know that I'm going to get a niece in April. Well, since there will be a new member of my family I will make her a stocking for at my parent's house. My mom has requested that I use a fabric with Santa in it. I looked in my fabric stash the other night and this is the only Santa fabric I could come up with.
If my mom likes it this will be my nieces stocking. If my mom doesn't like it I will keep looking because I don't mind going shopping for fabric.

Pearl Quest

This little game is taking up a lot of my time. This was one Bo's stocking stuffers, and I'm the one who plays it our after hour. I guess unless you consider high score I haven't done anything creative lately.

Pom Pom Garland

I needed garland on one of my Christmas trees for next year. Well, I saw on a blog this idea. (I so wish I could tell you which one and give the woman credit, but I can't remember for the life of me and I didn't save it. )
I have gotten two bags of these pom poms at Micheal's. Each bag makes about a 5 1/2 foot strand of garland. I used wax thread to string the pom pom.
This is how it looks strung along the Christmas tree. Yes, this is my Christmas tree. It stood naked in the corner of our living room until yesterday. It has either rained and Bo couldn't go get the box it belonged in or we were out of town. My mom jokingly told me we should leave it up until Easter. But now it is down and my living room seems bigger.

I think I will only need to maybe 10 -15 more strands of garland. Good thing they only take a half hour to make.

Cultural Experience

While we were in California Bo and I had a conversation that went something like this:
Bo: I think we would go to The Getty a lot if we lived near it.
Me: We live close to the Montgomery Museum of Fine Art and have never been in 5 years we have been together.
Bo: Good Point.
Me: Lets make it a goal for the year to experience something that our goal to experience something culturally at least once a month.
Bo: Sounds like a good idea, but lets just make it something we always say were going to do, but just don't that is offered around town.
Me: Like the Biscuits baseball team.
Bo: Yes
It was agreed that we will experience something a new around town or the state or even over into GA. So many times Bo and I have said oh that would be cool to go to and then we just don't go. No more excuses. So if you live in the state of Alabama and have any suggestions I would like to hear them!

These are some of the things I have thought of:
Callaway Gardens - GA
The Little White House - Warm Springs GA
The Montgomery Museum of Fine Art
The Shakespear Festival
The Zoo -we just never go
Biscuits Baseball
Broadway Under the Stars
Montgomery Ballett
McWane Center - B-Ham
